DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Series: Compact Survey, Thermal and Multispectral Drones

The Mavic 3 Enterprise series puts survey grade mapping, radiometric thermal, and multispectral crop analysis into a foldable airframe a single operator can carry to site. Three models cover distinct workflows: the Mavic 3E for photogrammetry and inspection, the Mavic 3T for thermal and public safety, and the Mavic 3M for agriculture and vegetation health. All three remain the most practical entry point into commercial DJI enterprise operations.

Mavic 3E: Discontinued, Now Superseded by the Matrice 4E

The Mavic 3E has been discontinued and is no longer available as new stock. The DJI Matrice 4E is its direct replacement and improves on it in every meaningful respect: a 4/3 inch mechanical shutter camera carried over, plus a 48MP medium telephoto camera, 5 directional oblique capture, 49 minutes of flight time, and factory calibrated cameras that lift mapping efficiency by up to 40% over the previous generation.

If you already operate a Mavic 3E, it remains fully supported and we continue to stock batteries, the RTK Module, and other accessories for it. If you are buying a mapping platform now, the Matrice 4E is the correct choice.

Mavic 3T: Thermal Imaging for Inspection and Public Safety

The Mavic 3T replaces the M3E's wide camera with a 48MP 1/2 inch sensor and adds a 640 x 512 radiometric thermal camera at 30Hz. Every thermal pixel carries a temperature value, so a survey report can state actual readings rather than relative brightness.

Synchronised split screen zoom scales the visual and thermal feeds together at up to 28x, letting an operator compare both views of the same detail without switching between them. For firefighting, search and rescue, powerline inspection, and roof or solar surveys, that halves the time spent working out what you are actually looking at.

Mavic 3M: Multispectral Analysis for Agriculture and Land Management

The Mavic 3M pairs the same 20MP RGB camera as the M3E with four 5MP multispectral bands covering green, red, red edge, and near infrared. That combination produces real time NDVI output, identifying crop stress, irrigation problems, and nutrient deficiency before any of it becomes visible to the eye.

A built in sunlight sensor corrects for changing light conditions across a flight, so readings captured at the start of a survey stay comparable to those captured at the end. This is what makes season to season comparison meaningful rather than anecdotal.

Shared Platform Specifications

All three models run on the same airframe, controller, and software ecosystem:

  • Flight time: Up to 45 minutes, or 42 minutes with the RTK module fitted

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Mavic 3E, 3T and 3M?

The 3E was the mapping and photogrammetry model and has now been discontinued, with the Matrice 4E taking its place. The 3T carries a 48MP wide camera plus a 640 x 512 radiometric thermal sensor, suiting inspection and public safety. The 3M adds four multispectral bands and a sunlight sensor for crop and vegetation analysis. Both the 3T and 3M remain available.

Can I use the Mavic 3T for mapping?

It can capture imagery, but we do not recommend it for survey work. The 3T lacks the mechanical shutter and larger sensor that make the 3E accurate for photogrammetry. If mapping is a core part of your work, the 3E is the correct choice.

Do I need the RTK module?

Only if your work requires centimetre level positional accuracy without laying ground control points. For general inspection and asset documentation, the standard GNSS positioning is usually sufficient. For boundary surveys, volumetric measurement, or anything producing a legally significant deliverable, RTK is worth the investment.

How does the Mavic 3 Enterprise compare to the standard Mavic 3?

The Enterprise models add a mechanical shutter, DJI Pilot 2 support, a 0.7 second photo interval, RTK compatibility, SDK access, and internal parameter calibration. The consumer Mavic 3 has none of these and is not intended for survey or inspection deliverables.

What flight time can I expect in real conditions?

Up to 45 minutes on paper, or 42 minutes with the RTK module fitted. In UK conditions with wind and active mission flying, plan around 30 to 35 minutes of usable time per battery.

Is the Mavic 3 Enterprise still current, or should I wait for a newer model?

The Mavic 3 Enterprise series remains DJI's compact commercial platform and is fully supported. The Matrice 4 Series sits above it for operations needing more sensor capability or automated dock deployment. Our team can advise which tier makes sense for your budget and workload.

Do you offer approved used Mavic 3 Enterprise aircraft?

Yes. We regularly hold approved used and open box stock, all checked by our own technicians before sale, which is often the most cost effective route into the range.

Is the Mavic 3E still available?

No, the Mavic 3E has been discontinued. The Matrice 4E supersedes it and offers longer flight time, 5 directional oblique capture, and improved mapping efficiency. Existing Mavic 3E owners are still fully supported, and we continue to stock batteries and accessories for the platform.

Can I still get parts and accessories for my Mavic 3E?

Yes. We hold batteries, the RTK Module, and other Mavic 3 Enterprise accessories in UK stock, all of which remain compatible with the 3E.
