Emlid Reach RS4
Emlid's flagship all-band RTK GNSS receiver, delivering true survey-grade centimetre accuracy even in challenging environments. Built for professionals who need reliability under canopy, on construction sites, or supporting drone ground control point work, not just open-sky conditions.
Survey-Grade Accuracy, Even Under Canopy
The RS4 tracks all major satellite constellations and frequencies, including the more interference-resistant L5 and L6 bands. With 672 tracking channels and the ability to track 40+ satellites simultaneously, it maintains stable RTK fixes in conditions where other receivers struggle, near buildings, under trees, or close to reflective surfaces.
Next-Generation IMU Tilt Compensation
Work faster without sacrificing accuracy. The RS4's IMU tilt compensation allows precise measurements without keeping the pole perfectly vertical, even at a 30° tilt it holds up to 18mm precision. The compensation activates within a few movements and stays stable throughout a survey without needing frequent recalibration, useful for kerbs, boundaries, walls, and other hard-to-reach points.
Precision Quick-Release Mount
A purpose-built quick-release mount eliminates backlash and movement between the receiver and pole, since tilt compensation is only as accurate as the physical connection it's built on. The mount gives a secure, repeatable fit while still allowing fast attachment and removal in the field.
Flexible RTK: Base, Rover, and NTRIP
The RS4 adapts to different workflows rather than locking you into a single setup:
- Run NTRIP RTK with VRS or single-baseline CORS networks, using standard RTCM3 format, or act as your own NTRIP base via Emlid NTRIP Caster.
- Use the built-in UHF radio (450MHz, up to 2W output, licence may be required) for direct transmit and receive, compatible with Reach and select third-party receivers supporting TRIMTALK 450S.
- Use the built-in LoRa radio (915MHz, up to 1W output, licence-free in North America) optimised for Reach-to-Reach communication.
Built for Harsh Environments
- Carry a lightweight magnesium alloy chassis, the same material class used in aerospace and high-end electronics, for durability without excess weight.
- Run up to 16 hours on a single charge via USB-C, or extend a session by powering from a power bank.
- Work through dust, rain, snow, and construction site conditions with a fully sealed IP68 rating.
- Operate from -40°C to +65°C, holding up across the full range of UK weather and beyond.
Emlid Flow: Field to Cloud
The RS4 runs on Emlid Flow, available on iOS and Android, covering field setup and receiver control, real-time RTK status monitoring, cloud project sync and team collaboration, and export to industry-standard formats. This keeps a survey team working from the same data without manually passing files between devices.

What's the difference between the RS4 and the RS3?
The RS4 adds the more interference-resistant L5 and L6 frequency bands, a higher 672-channel tracking count, and improved tilt compensation accuracy. The RS3 remains a capable sub-20mm accuracy receiver at a lower price point for buyers who don't need the RS4's extended canopy and interference performance.
Do I need a subscription to use RTK corrections?
Not necessarily. The RS4 can connect to third-party NTRIP networks, run its own base-and-rover setup via the included UHF or LoRa antennas, or use a paid RTK Network Subscription like the one included with this purchase.
Can the RS4 be used for drone ground control points?
Yes, this is one of its common uses, providing survey-grade coordinates for GCPs to improve the accuracy of drone-captured mapping and photogrammetry data.
Does it come with a tripod or survey pole?
No. The box includes the receiver, carrying case, charging cable, and both radio antennas, but not a tripod, tribrach, or pole, these are sold separately depending on your setup.
