DJI Drone Repair and Servicing

A crashed gimbal, a firmware issue, or simply a drone that hasn't flown in months all benefit from the same thing: a proper inspection by someone qualified to do it. Drone Safe Store services and repairs DJI drones in-house in Chichester, with collection and delivery included, so your aircraft comes back tested rather than just looked at.

What Every Service Includes

Regardless of level, every drone that comes through our workshop goes through the same process:

  • Collect and return your drone directly from your chosen location, so there's nothing to arrange beyond booking the service
  • Diagnose the aircraft with a comprehensive inspection, identifying issues and pinpointing the root cause rather than treating symptoms
  • Replace worn or missing parts such as propellers, gimbal covers, and storage covers where stock allows
  • Update firmware to the latest DJI release and carry out precise calibration, restoring the aircraft to correct working order
  • Escalate to DJI directly if a repair needs manufacturer attention, handling shipping and communication on your behalf and returning your drone repaired or replaced

Small, Large or Medium: Which Do You Need?

Small Drone Service, £99.00, covers a full 10-point check with collection and delivery included. The right call for routine maintenance, a drone that hasn't flown in a while, or a general health check before a trip.

Large Drone Service, £289.00, adds payload functionality testing and full battery cycle and capacity diagnostics. Worth booking if you're running payloads regularly or want confirmation your batteries are still performing to spec.

Medium Drone Service, £499.00, delivers a complete flight test report alongside battery health analysis, the most thorough option and the right choice ahead of a significant commercial job where you need documented proof of condition.

Note the naming runs Small, Large, Medium in ascending price rather than ascending name, so check the inclusions above rather than assuming by title.

Servicing Covers Wear, Repair Refresh Covers Accidents

Servicing and accidental damage cover solve two different problems. A service catches wear before it becomes a failure, calibration drift, ageing batteries, firmware falling behind. It doesn't cover a crash, a flyaway, or water damage, that's what Repair Refresh is for.

Drone Safe Repair Refresh
Our own in-house plan, offering comprehensive accidental crash cover activated straight away, with repairs handled directly by our engineers here in Chichester rather than routed through a manufacturer process. If your drone does come down, Repair Refresh gets it fixed by the same team already servicing it.

Prefer DJI's own plan instead? DJI Care Refresh is also available, and our team can talk you through which suits your drone and how you fly.

For anyone flying commercially or regularly, pairing routine servicing with Repair Refresh covers both sides: planned maintenance for wear, and immediate cover if something goes wrong in the field.

Why Servicing Matters

A drone that flies fine can still be quietly wearing down: a gimbal drifting out of calibration, a battery losing capacity faster than it should, firmware falling behind DJI's latest safety and performance updates. Regular servicing catches these before they become the kind of failure that ends a flight, or a job, early.

For commercial operators, a documented service report also matters for client confidence and, in some cases, insurance requirements.

Why Choose Drone Safe Store for Servicing

Trusted DJI Specialists
Our team has years of experience maintaining DJI drones across every series, not a generalist repair shop learning as they go.

Collection and Delivery Included
We collect from your chosen location and return your drone once fully serviced, with nothing for you to arrange beyond booking.

DJI-Backed Where It Matters
If a repair needs manufacturer attention, we handle shipping and communication with DJI directly and keep you updated throughout.

A Genuine DJI Authorised Retailer
DJI Enterprise A Rank status and ISO 9001 certification, so the standard behind our servicing is independently verified, not just a claim.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between servicing and Repair Refresh?

Servicing catches wear before it fails, calibration, batteries, firmware. It doesn't cover a crash, flyaway, or water damage. Repair Refresh is our in-house accidental damage plan for exactly that, with repairs handled by the same team that services your drone.

Is collection and delivery included?

Yes, on every service level. We collect from your chosen location and return your drone once servicing is complete.

What happens if my drone needs a manufacturer repair?

We handle it on your behalf, shipping the aircraft to DJI and managing all communication, then return it to you repaired or replaced.

Do you update firmware as part of the service?

Yes. Every service includes a firmware update to the latest DJI release, alongside calibration to restore correct performance.

Can you replace worn parts during the service?

Yes, where stock allows. Propellers, gimbal covers, and storage covers are commonly replaced as part of the process.

How often should I service my drone?

There's no fixed rule, but a Small Drone Service is worth booking after any period of inactivity, before a significant trip, or if you've noticed anything behaving differently in flight.

Does it come with a warranty?

Servicing itself isn't a warranty product, it's a maintenance check. For accidental damage cover, see DJI Care Refresh or our own Drone Safe Repair Refresh.
