Camera System

Thermal: 640×512 at 30Hz, 40mm equivalent focal length, 61° DFOV. Radiometric data supported by DJI Thermal Analysis Tool 3.0 for post-flight reporting and parameter adjustment.

Wide: 1/2-inch CMOS, 48MP, 24mm equivalent.

Tele: 1/2-inch CMOS, 12MP, 162mm equivalent, up to 56x hybrid zoom.

28x Synchronised Zoom

Thermal and visual images scale together, so both views stay locked on the same subject as you zoom in. In practice this halves the time spent re-finding a target after switching sensors, which matters most on a live search or a fault-finding inspection where the operator is working under pressure.

Built for Emergency Response

  • Fly for up to 45 minutes (42 with the RTK module fitted, since it adds weight).
  • Transmit up to 8km under CE regulations, which apply in the UK, with 1080p/30fps live view on O3 Enterprise.
  • Add a loudspeaker for search and rescue and public safety callouts, sold separately.
  • Deploy in under a minute from a case, from a 915g airframe that fits in one hand.

Flight Safety

Six omnidirectional fish-eye sensors feed APAS 5.0 for automatic rerouting with no blind spots. DJI AirSense receives ADS-B signals from nearby manned aircraft. Advanced RTH calculates the most efficient route home autonomously.

The M3T remains the lighter, more portable option and sits under 2kg for easier operational authorisation. The Matrice 4T adds infrared super-resolution, a laser rangefinder, and AI-assisted tracking for £1,071 more.

Software

DJI Pilot 2 on the included RC Pro Enterprise, with one-tap access to aircraft and payload controls.

DJI FlightHub 2 for cloud fleet management, route planning, and live streaming.

DJI Terra for 2D and 3D reconstruction. A 3-month licence is included. Note that DJI does not recommend the M3T for mapping work, as its wide camera lacks the sensor size and mechanical shutter needed for reliable accuracy. For mapping, the Mavic 3E or Matrice 4E is the correct aircraft.

Can I use the M3T for mapping and survey work?

DJI advises against it. The thermal variant's wide camera isn't built for photogrammetric accuracy. Use the Mavic 3E or Matrice 4E for mapping, and the M3T for thermal inspection and response work.

What's the transmission range in the UK?

Up to 8km under CE regulations, which is what applies here. Higher figures quoted elsewhere are FCC maximums for the United States.

Is the thermal data radiometric?

Yes. Temperature data is retained per pixel and can be analysed and reported through DJI Thermal Analysis Tool 3.0 after the flight.

Does it come with the RTK module or speaker?

No, both are sold separately. The RTK Module is £570 and the Speaker is available separately.

Do I need a licence to fly it commercially in the UK?

At 915g, commercial operation requires an Operator ID and appropriate competency. The included A2CofC course covers part of this, and our team can advise on what your specific operation needs.
