DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Series: Pocket-Sized 1-Inch Vlogging Cameras

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Series pairs a 1-inch sensor with three-axis mechanical stabilisation in a body that fits a jacket pocket. Mechanical stabilisation moves the camera itself rather than cropping the frame, which is why Pocket footage stays smooth without the digital wobble electronic stabilisation leaves behind.

The series comes in two models: the single-lens Osmo Pocket 4, and the Osmo Pocket 4P, the first Pocket camera with two lenses and DJI's new LOFIC sensor.

Two Lenses, One Pocket

The second lens is what sets the 4P apart from every previous Pocket.

Main camera: a 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor behind a 20mm equivalent f/2.0 lens, using LOFIC sensor technology for a claimed 17 stops of dynamic range. That is the difference between recovering a blown sky and losing it.

Telephoto camera: a 1/1.28-inch sensor behind a 60mm equivalent f/1.8 lens, delivering 3x optical zoom. 60mm is the classic portrait length, compressing the background and separating the subject in a way a wide lens cannot.

Switching between the two is instant, so establishing shots and tight portraits come from one camera rather than two.

Image Quality

  • Capture 17 stops of dynamic range from the LOFIC main sensor, holding detail in the brightest and darkest parts of a frame
  • Record 4K at up to 240fps, giving full-resolution slow motion
  • Grade with 10-bit D-Log 2, DJI's new colour profile built around the wider dynamic range for professional post-production
  • Separate subject from background with the f/2.0 main and f/1.8 telephoto lenses, producing natural optical bokeh

Stabilisation and Framing

Three-axis mechanical stabilisation physically counteracts movement, the fundamental advantage over cameras that crop the sensor to compensate. Walking, running, and panning stay smooth without losing field of view.

A 2-inch 1000-nit rotatable touchscreen switches between horizontal and vertical framing, readable in direct sunlight, and the camera follows the screen so vertical content is captured at full resolution.

Battery, Storage and Audio

  • Record for up to 210 minutes on the 1545mAh battery, comfortably a full day of intermittent shooting
  • Store footage on 103GB of built-in storage, so the camera works straight out of the box
  • Capture clean sound through three built-in microphones, or connect DJI microphone transmitters directly via OsmoAudio with no receiver

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Pocket 4P different from the Pocket 4?

The 4P is the first Pocket camera with two lenses: a wide 20mm main camera and a 60mm telephoto. It also uses a LOFIC main sensor for 17 stops of dynamic range against the Pocket 4's 14, and adds the new D-Log 2 colour profile.

What is the 60mm telephoto for?

60mm is the classic portrait focal length. It compresses the background and separates the subject, which suits interviews, product shots, and any scene where a subject should stand out. It gives 3x optical zoom, not a digital crop.

What is D-Log 2?

A new colour profile built around the wider dynamic range of the LOFIC sensor, retaining more detail at both ends of the exposure for grading in post. If you deliver graded footage, it is a meaningful upgrade over standard D-Log.

What is the difference between the Standard and Vlog Combo?

Both include the same camera. The Vlog Combo adds a DJI Mic transmitter and creator accessories for around £76 more, which works out cheaper than buying those items separately.

Do I need a memory card?

No. 103GB of storage is built in, so the camera records straight out of the box.

Is it waterproof?

No. For water and rough weather, the Osmo Action 6 or Action 5 Pro are the right cameras.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes. All new, sealed DJI products from Drone Safe Store carry a full 24-month warranty.
