How to Set Up RTK on the DJI Matrice 4E

RTK is built into the Matrice 4E as standard, no separate module to fit, rated at 1cm + 1ppm horizontal and 1.5cm + 1ppm vertical once FIX is achieved. Setting it up is a matter of toggling it on and picking a correction source, both covered in general terms in our DJI RTK setup guide. This post narrows that down to the specific options, bundles and accessories relevant to the M4E.

How to Set Up RTK on the DJI Matrice 4E

M4E RTK Specs at a Glance

The M4E's RTK Fix accuracy, 1cm + 1ppm horizontal and 1.5cm + 1ppm vertical, is confirmed on its own spec sheet. Custom Network RTK, DJI Pilot 2's setting for connecting to any NTRIP service, is confirmed for the Matrice 4 Series, and DJI's own D-RTK 3 station lists Matrice 4 Series and Matrice 4D Series compatibility directly on its product listing.

Turning RTK On

The toggle and menu path are identical to every current DJI Enterprise aircraft: Camera View, the three dots menu, then the RTK satellite icon, with RTK Positioning as the main switch. Our DJI RTK setup guide covers this step in full; nothing about it changes on the M4E specifically.

Correction Source Options for the M4E

Correction Source Options for the M4E

Three options apply. DJI's D-RTK 3 pairs natively, no NTRIP credentials to enter, and is the aircraft's confirmed DJI-brand base station. Custom Network RTK connects to any NTRIP provider, our DJI NTRIP connection guide covers the field-by-field setup. An Emlid Reach receiver can also serve as a third-party base over the same Custom Network RTK setting, covered in our Emlid and DJI RTK drones guide.

M4E RTK Bundle Options

The M4E is available as the Worry-Free Plus Combo at £3,940.00, the aircraft, controller and standard accessories, RTK included on the airframe but no base station. The Matrice 4E RTK Bundle at £5,999.00 adds the D-RTK 3 Multifunctional Station, D-RTK 3 survey pole and tripod kit, a year of DJI Terra subscription, Drone Safe Register Professional cover and a 30-day RTK Network Subscription, everything needed for local RTK correction out of the box.

Buying the base combo and adding a correction source separately, either a standalone D-RTK 3, an Emlid Reach receiver, or an RTK Network Subscription on its own, costs differently depending on which path suits the work; the bundle is priced as a package rather than the sum of its parts bought individually.

Ground Control Points for M4E Mapping Work

RTK Fix accuracy on the aircraft covers live positioning; ground control points remain the way to verify or anchor that data independently. A Goecke 300 x 300mm aerial target plate at £10.00 marks a point precisely enough for DJI Terra to match against the aircraft's own captured coordinates during processing.

Verifying RTK on M4E Captures

Every M4E photo carries the same rtk_flag metadata covered in our DJI RTK setup guide, a value of 50 for FIX, 34 to 49 for FLOAT. Checking this after a mapping flight confirms the correction held throughout rather than dropping partway through without being noticed at the time.
