Flying Drones In Hot Weather
Check the weather forecast before flying
It’s important to check the weather forecast before flying a drone. If there are any thunderstorms or severe weather warnings, then it’s best not to fly at all. You should also avoid flying drones near power lines, tall buildings, and other structures.
Know The Rules Before You Fly
Before flying drones or model aircraft outdoors in the UK, you might require the following two IDs:
Flyer ID
Operator ID
If you are flying a drone that’s sub 250g like the DJI Mini 3 Pro, DJI Mini 2 or DJI Mini SE different rules apply compared to drones that weigh over 250g. When flying a sub 250g you can fly closer than 50 meters to people and you can even legally overfly them. With sub 250g drones you can also fly closer than 150 meters to residential, recreational, commercial and industrial areas.
If you are flying a drone that weighs over 250g you have to stay 150 meters away from built-up areas and 50 meters away from uninvolved people.
Always check no-fly zones in your location to make sure you aren’t flying in a restricted area.
Don't Fly Over Crowded Areas
If you're flying a drone near people, make sure there's enough space between them and the drone so that it won't collide with anyone. Also, avoid flying drones at night because it's harder to see what's happening below.
Be Aware Of Local Laws And Regulations
You should also check local laws and regulations before you start flying a drone. Make sure you understand any rules and restrictions that apply to where you plan to fly. Only launch your drone from your property or public property.
What drones do we recommend?
Sub 250g Drone - DJI's flagship Mini 3 Pro is little, yet it performs admirably. It has more sophisticated safety features and weighs just 249g less than the previous Mini model. As a result, the Mini 3 is the safest vehicle in its weight class and meets with U.K. sub-250g regulations. It appears from this that all you require to fly is an Operator ID. The Mini 3 is a brand-new camera with cutting-edge capabilities and a sizable 1/1.3-inch sensor. This drone redefines the term "Mini”.
Over 250g Drone - You can enter the world of professional aerial photography with the DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo. The predecessor to the DJI Mavic 2 has now been published by DJI. We have reached a point in the drone industry where premium camera quality is available in a portable form. Say goodbye to carrying around heavy hard bags with the DJI Mavic 3.
