Can I Fly A Drone In My Garden?

Drones are becoming increasingly popular for many reasons. They're fun, easy to use, and can be used for a variety of purposes. But before you buy one, you should consider a few things first.

What are the rules for flying drones?

There are several rules governing where drones can be flown. You must stay at least 500 feet away from people, buildings, vehicles, and other aircraft. You also cannot fly above 400 feet above ground level. And you must keep your drone within sight while flying.

There are two sets of rules for drones. One set is for drones that weigh under 250g. These rules state that you have no minimum distance from people and that you can fly in residential, recreational, commercial and industrial areas. With flying any drones in public you must always fly safely.

For drones weighing more than 250g, there are additional regulations. You must keep drones that weigh more than 250 grammes 50 metres away from people and at least 150 metres away from residential, recreational, commercial, and industrial zones. Flying closer than 50 metres to participants in your activity is permitted.
