DJI RS 3 Pro Features

The DJI RS 3 Pro is an advanced, all-encompassing camera extension platform that builds on the strong features of the Ronin series and gives videographers more control while offering coordinated shooting options for expert crews. Nothing is impossible with the DJI RS 3 Pro.

Handle Big Payloads

The RS 3 Pro is a suitable fit for cameras like the Sony FX6 or Canon C70 with 24-70mm F2.8 lenses because it employs enlarged carbon fibre axis arms to provide additional balancing room for professional cameras.

Lens support can be easily installed on the new Extended Lower Quick-Release Plate for more secure configurations and more reliable camera mounting.

The tilt axis now features a fine-tuning knob that allows the camera to be moved forward or backwards more accurately, even to the millimetre, which simplifies the balancing procedure. Even when attaching heavier cameras, the RS 3 Pro may be balanced with reduced friction and resistance thanks to Teflon®-coated components.

Automated Axis Locks

You can get going quickly with RS 3 Pro so you never miss a shot. You may start shooting in a matter of seconds by just pressing and holding the power button as the three axes instantly unlock and extend. Once the power button is pressed, the axes automatically lock and go into sleep mode, greatly enhancing the efficiency of business movement. It will automatically fold and lock if you press and hold the power button.

High-Capacity Payloads

The RS 3 Pro's refined structural design guarantees that it weighs the same as the RS 2—just 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) (with the gimbal, battery grip, and dual-layered quick-release plates)—while offering a load capability of 4.5 kg (10 lbs), providing sturdy support in a compact package.

Wireless Shutter Control

The RS 3 Pro can accomplish effective and dependable wireless shutter control since it is equipped with Dual-Mode Bluetooth technology. By just pushing the record button on the stabiliser, you may control video and photo shooting after the initial Bluetooth connectivity. Every time you use a previously paired camera, it will instantly reconnect, saving you time.

Instant Mode Switching

You may choose between Pan follow, Pan and Tilt follow, and FPV modes by simply sliding the new Gimbal Mode Switch. You can quickly set up your equipment and get going by choosing from the 3D Roll 360, Portrait, or Custom FPV modes.

Bigger is Better

Setting parameters, monitoring shooting progress, and framing your tracked objects are all made exceedingly simple by the big, integrated 1.8-inch OLED full-colour touchscreen, which boosts screen size by 28% over the RS 2. Every option is also more precise and intuitive thanks to the updated user interface. For improved outdoor viewing with less battery consumption, the OLED screen has a higher brightness rating than the LCD screen of the RS 2.

Pro-Grade Stabilisation

Sleek Carbon Fiber Construction

Similar to the Ronin 2, the RS 3 Pro arms are made from laminated sheets of uncut carbon fibre. This increases rigidity and reduces weight compared to the jointed carbon fibre material used in the RS 2, making it lighter and stronger to withstand even more demanding shooting circumstances.

The Next Evolution of RS Stabilisation

RS 3 Pro offers significantly improved stability in any situation thanks to the third generation of RS stabilisation algorithms. According to laboratory sampling data, RS 3 Pro is 20% more stable than RS 2 and is capable of handling low-angle images, running scenarios, and moving between high and low positions.

Get Super Smooth Results

While Super Smooth mode is used, the RS 3 Pro boosts motor torque to further improve stabilisation, allowing it to capture stable video even in frantic situations or when utilising lenses with a 100mm equivalent focal length.

Pro-Grade Focusing

LiDAR Assistance

Ronin 4D's LiDAR focusing technology is used with RS 3 Pro to simplify focusing. Within a 14-meter radius, the new LiDAR Range Finder (RS) can project 43,200 ranking points.

Additionally, it has a built-in camera that can focus on most situations and has an equivalent focal length of 30 mm and a broad field of view (FOV) of 70°.

The LiDAR focusing system does not need to rely on the subject's surface texture, in contrast to conventional focusing technologies. This produces an incredibly stable focus and is especially beneficial in challenging situations with several subjects or poor light.

All-New Focus Motor

The next-generation DJI RS Focus Motor (2022) offers three times as much torque (up to 1 Nm) and 50% less audible noise. As a result, concentrating is more fluid, and the impact on audio recording is lessened. It also uses a quick-release design that makes it simple to put together without the use of any tools for quicker use.

Enables Cinematic Autofocus

Cinematic autofocus on manual lenses is also made feasible by the combination of the LiDAR Range Finder and the new Focus Motor. To easily switch between manual focus and autofocus to suit your needs for both modes, press the M button on the gimbal once.

There is no need to re-calibrate manual lenses for subsequent applications because the focus motor may save many lens calibration profiles after manual lens calibration. Even without calibration, some cinema lenses can connect directly to the focus motor for autofocus.

Additionally, users have the option to simply attach the LiDAR Range Finder and focus motor to the camera and use them without the assistance of a gimbal, enabling autofocus on manual lenses as well.

Active Track Pro

Never before has tracking on the Ronin series been as precise or quick.

The Ronin Image Transmitter is not required for the next-generation ActiveTrack Pro to read photos from the camera included inside the LiDAR Range Finder (previously known as the Ronin RavenEye Image Transmitter). Additionally, the Ronin 4D-compatible chip that was self-developed and included in the LiDAR Range Finder increases ActiveTrack Pro's processing power by more than 60 times over ActiveTrack 3.0 on the Ronin Image Transmitter.

On the OLED display of the RS 3 Pro, you may directly monitor or frame the subject when using ActiveTrack Pro. When compared to the Ronin Image Transmitter, the live feed latency is reduced to just 40 ms, which enables quick tracking even when the subject is moving quickly. It can recognise and follow targets even when they are numerous and far away with a neural network accelerator.

Pro-Grade Video Transmission

Quick Mounting

The brand-new DJI Transmission may be paired with the RS 3 Pro to provide a tailored shooting solution. The DJI Video Transmitter mounts comfortably on the bottom through the cold shoe without the need for an additional battery, easing the load of the handheld setup. It may be powered directly by the RS 3 Pro.

Long-Range Wireless Transmission

O3 Pro Video Transmission offers an exceptionally reliable and interference-free remote monitoring experience for crews, supporting a 6km/20,000ft Video and audio transmission range with ultra-low latency and automated frequency hopping between 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz and DFS bands.

Coordinated Shooting

One transmitter and numerous receivers are supported by the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor for 1080p/60fps live feeds. For an integrated receiving, monitoring, and control experience, two receivers can be utilised simultaneously in Manage mode to cooperatively control the gimbal, focus, and camera parameters of the RS 3 Pro.

Pro-Grade Wireless Control

Gimbal and Focus Control

To accurately manage the gimbal and focus, combine the High-Bright Remote Monitor with Ronin 4D Hand Grips, DJI Master Wheels, or DJI Force Pro.

To do more sophisticated camera motions from a moving vehicle or with a jib, it is also equipped with a built-in gyroscopic sensor that may transform the remote monitor into an independent motion controller for RS 3 Pro without the need for other peripherals.

Seamless Wireless Camera Control

Mirror Control mode enables seamless wireless control from wherever on set when RS 3 Pro is mounted to carriers like a jib, cable cam, or vehicle suction cup mount. Without having to take your camera out of its case, this mode enables direct control of the primary menu functions for Sony mirrorless cameras.

Pro-Grade Ecosystem

Extensive Expandability

With dual RSA/NATO ports and a battery port, RS 3 Pro can be connected to various accessories such as the Twist Grip Dual Handle, Tethered Control Handle, and the new DJI Briefcase Handle to flexibly meet a variety of shooting requirements.
