DJI FPV vs DJI Avata

What’s the DJI Avata?

The DJI Avata is DJI’s latest FPV drone release which was released in late August 2022. The Avata is a small form factor First Person View Drone which enables you to rediscover your surroundings in a completely different way. With the DJI Avata, you can fly with confidence as it has been built to be bold, if it comes in contact with an object it will bounce back, stay in the air and keep on flying.

The DJI Avata comes with a 1/1.7 inch sensor which is capable of capturing 4K/60FPS video. This sensor paired with high-grade cutting-edge performance will keep your viewers on the edge of their seats.

You can operate the DJI Avata with either the Goggles 2 or the Goggles V2. The Goggles 2 are made for next-level comfort and convenience. These goggles are made smaller, lighter and equipped with a Micro-OLED screen.

What’s the DJI FPV?

The DJI FPV is DJI’s first First Person View drone that was released in January 2021. This drone is powered by the DJI FPV Goggles 2 which gives you an amazing view of what the drone is seeing. DJI has always been at the forefront of drone technology and the DJI FPV is a reflection of that as it is capable of 4K/60fps video which has a 162 degrees field of view.

Whilst the DJI FPV is the first FPV drone released by DJI it’s still an amazing drone.

What are the main differences?

The DJI Avata is significantly smaller than the DJI Avata which means it can get in much smaller spaces and create more immersive imagery. The DJI Avata’s sensor can capture more detail compared to the DJI FPV due to the 1/1.7-inch sensor. Both drones are capable of 4k/60fps video.

The DJI Avata features RockSteady which means it smooths out most of the vibration that the camera gets so you don’t have to edit the footage after you take it off the drone. As well as this, it features Horizon Steady which keeps the horizon locked in your videos.
