Do You Need a Licence to Fly a Drone in the UK?
From 1 January 2026, UK rules require both a Flyer ID and an Operator ID to fly any drone weighing 100g or more with a camera. Nearly every drone we sell falls into this category.
The Flyer ID is free, earned by passing the CAA's online theory test and valid for five years. The Operator ID is a low-cost annual registration. Sub-250g drones still enjoy the A1 privilege of flying closer to people, but registration applies regardless of weight.
We are one of the few DJI retailers that actively educates customers on the rules. For commercial work, or to fly closer to people and structures, you may also need the A2 Certificate of Competency or the GVC, both covered by our training courses

Which DJI drone should i buy as a beginner?
What is the best DJI drone for photography and video?
The Mavic 4 Pro is the flagship. For flagship results under 250g, the Mini 5 Pro is exceptional, and the Air 3S sits between them with dual cameras.
Do I need to register my drone in the UK?
Since 1 January 2026, any camera drone weighing 100g or more requires both a Flyer ID and an Operator ID. This applies to almost every drone we sell, including sub-250g models.
What is the difference between consumer and enterprise drones?
Consumer drones are built for photography, video, and recreational flying. Enterprise drones add specialist payloads, thermal imaging, RTK positioning, and automated operation. See our enterprise range.
Can I try a drone before buying?
Yes. Handle any model and book a test flight at our Chichester showroom, or rent one to try it in the field.
Do Open Box and Used drones come with a warranty?
Yes. All DJI products from Drone Safe Store, including Open Box and Used, carry a warranty. If there is a problem, contact us and we will sort it swiftly.
Does it come with a warranty?
All new, sealed DJI products carry a full 24-month warranty, with DJI Care Refresh and our own Repair Refresh available for accidental damage cover.
