Freewell ND Filters are constructed to reduce light hitting the sensor, which slows down the camera's shutter speed.
This creates a more natural-looking motion blur which smooths out footage and helps reduce the appearance of "jello" effects from the camera's rolling shutter. The ND Filters can also be used for reducing the lens flare while shooting into the sun and for toning down highlights while filming outdoors.
ND4 - Cuts light by 2 f-stops for overcast or fairly cloudy with lower daylight.
ND8 - Slow down the shutter speed by 3 f-stops in partial cloudy daylight conditions.
ND16 - Cuts light by 4 f-stops in normal daylight to avoid the 'Jell-O' effect.
ND32 - Cuts light by 5 f-stops for bright sunny daylight to create natural motion blur footage.
ND64 - Reduce light by 6 f-stops for use in very bright sunny daylight conditions.
ND1000 - Cuts light off by 10 f-stops creating mesmerising milky long exposure.
