DJI Matrice 4T
AI-assisted operation, thermal imaging, and laser-accurate measurement in a single 1.2kg airframe. Built for inspection, emergency response, public safety, and forestry work where seeing clearly matters as much as flying well.
AI-Assisted Flight Operations
Search and rescue and inspection work both benefit from the same onboard AI model, which tracks vehicles, vessels, and people automatically rather than relying on manual gimbal input throughout a flight. Four modes put this to work:
- Deploy Smart Track to keep the camera locked on a moving subject without manual gimbal input.
- Use POI (Point of Interest) to circle a fixed structure automatically, useful for full inspection of towers, pylons, or plant.
- Run Cruise mode on long transects, holding a set direction without constant stick input on corridor patrols.
- Set FlyTo to send the aircraft directly to a mapped coordinate, cutting transit time on large sites.
Thermal Imaging
A 640 × 512 uncooled VOx thermal camera measures temperature from -20°C to 550°C across two gain modes, with accuracy of ±2°C (high gain) or ±5°C (low gain). Point-and-area measurement modes let you take a spot reading or scan a wider zone without leaving the controller. An NIR auxiliary light extends illumination for low-light and night operation, and Super Resolution mode lifts thermal video to 1280 × 1024.
Camera System: Wide, Medium Tele, and Tele
- The 48MP wide camera (f/1.7) handles general capture and low-light work.
- The 48MP medium tele camera resolves fine detail from a safe working distance during close inspection.
- The 48MP tele camera reads detail from up to 250m away, with 16x digital zoom (112x hybrid).
Laser Rangefinder
Marking a wildfire boundary or logging an inspection point becomes a single step with the built-in laser rangefinder, which reads up to 1800m at 1Hz with a blind zone of 1m. Point, draw a line, or mark an area directly in DJI Pilot 2, and share the result via QR code or DJI FlightHub 2 without needing to process anything back at base.
Flight Safety and Video Transmission
Return-to-home stays accurate even without GNSS signal, thanks to an integrated RTK module running GNSS + Vision Fusion Positioning. On the transmission side, O4 Enterprise carries a signal up to 25km unobstructed (12km under CE regulations) across an 8-antenna array, with download speeds reaching 20MB/s. Fitting the optional DJI Cellular Dongle 2 adds 4G as a backup path through built-up areas where signal can be less reliable.

What's the difference between the Matrice 4T and 4E?
The 4T carries a thermal camera and NIR auxiliary light, aimed at inspection, emergency response, and public safety work. The 4E swaps these for a higher-resolution wide camera, built for surveying and mapping instead. The airframe and flight systems are shared.
What temperature range can the thermal camera measure?
-20°C to 150°C in high gain mode, or 0°C to 550°C in low gain mode, with accuracy of ±2°C or ±5°C respectively depending on the mode used.
Is the Matrice 4T waterproof?
No. Avoid flying in rain, and if caught out, land as soon as possible and allow the aircraft to dry fully before flying again.
