Cluster reconstruction lets Terra Flagship split a large processing job across multiple networked computers instead of one machine working alone, which is how city-scale models and very large datasets get processed in a practical timeframe. This package adds one additional node to that cluster, permanently, with no annual renewal.

You need this if you already hold a DJI Terra Flagship licence, you're processing datasets large enough that a single machine takes an impractically long time, and you have a second computer to add to a processing cluster.
You don't need this if you don't yet have Terra Flagship (cluster reconstruction is a Flagship-only capability, not available on Standard), you're not running into processing time limits on your current setup, or you only have one workstation to process on. A single machine running Terra Flagship handles the great majority of survey and mapping projects without cluster processing at all.
What Cluster Reconstruction Does
Splits reconstruction work across multiple networked machines rather than relying on one computer's processing power alone. For city-scale modelling, very large corridor surveys, or high-volume Gaussian Splatting projects, this is what turns a processing job from days into hours, or from impractical into achievable at all.
Each additional node adds another machine's processing power to the cluster, so total capacity scales roughly with how many nodes you add.
What "Overseas" and "Permanent" Mean
Overseas distinguishes this from DJI's China-region licensing, and confirms the package is licensed for use outside mainland China, relevant here since we're a UK reseller.
Permanent means a one-off purchase with no annual renewal, matching how Terra Flagship Permanent itself is licensed. An annual node option may also exist; call us if you'd rather add capacity on a fixed-term basis instead.

Do I need Terra Flagship before I can use this?
Yes. Cluster reconstruction is a Flagship-tier capability. This package adds a node to an existing Flagship cluster setup; it isn't a standalone product and won't function without a Flagship licence already in place.
How many nodes do I need?
Depends entirely on your dataset sizes and how much you need to cut processing time. There's no universal answer, so call us with a description of your typical project and we'll help you work out a sensible starting point rather than over-buying.
Does adding a node require identical hardware across all machines?
Not necessarily identical, but every node needs to independently meet Terra's minimum requirements. A weak node can become the bottleneck for the whole cluster, so it's worth checking specs against your existing setup before adding one.
Is this the same as an annual Terra Flagship licence for a second machine?
No. This adds processing capacity to a single cluster working on the same jobs, it doesn't give you a second, separate Terra licence for independent use on another machine. If you need a colleague to run Terra independently, that's a separate Terra licence, not a cluster node.
What happens if I stop needing cluster processing?
Nothing, since it's a permanent, one-off purchase rather than a subscription. The node capability simply sits unused if you're not running cluster jobs.
