The DJI RS 4 Mini introduces auto axis locks, a feature previously exclusive to DJI’s flagship gimbals. Upon powering on, all three axes unlock automatically, and they lock again when powered off or put to sleep. This significantly accelerates filming, transitions, and storage. Additionally, the upgraded storage design allows the axis arms to fold flatter, saving space. With automated axis locks, the gimbal can be securely stored at the press of a button, making it easy to pack and carry on the go.
Faster Vertical Switch
The RS 4 Mini provides the quickest transition between horizontal and vertical firing in the RS series. To switch to vertical shooting, simply release and press the single-side knob, then remove the gimbal's horizontal plate, twist it 90 degrees, and tighten it back in place. Everything can be done in 10 seconds. This manner, you can record vertical videos that are ideal for mobile phone viewing, allowing your audience to appreciate your masterpiece even sooner.
Effortless Three-Step Balancing
Struggling with camera balancing? The DJI RS 4 Mini introduces thoughtful upgrades to simplify the process. Teflon interlayers, previously found in DJI’s flagship gimbals, reduce friction for smoother adjustments. A new fine-tuning knob on the tilt axis enables precise millimeter-level positioning for optimal balance. The upper quick-release plate features three positioning slots, allowing flexible installation based on your camera's size. This provides more balancing space and ensures quick, accurate repositioning when reattaching the camera, saving time and effort.
Supports Cameras and Smartphones
The lightweight DJI RS 4 Mini boasts a 2 kg (4.4 lbs) payload capacity, easily accommodating setups like the Sony A7 series mirrorless camera with a 24-70 mm F2.8 GM II lens, as well as vlog cameras such as the Sony ZV series. Even when paired with DJI Mic series microphones, fill lights, and other accessories, it maintains smooth camera movements. The new Phone Holder allows for quick switching to a smartphone stabiliser, ensuring versatility across different shooting scenarios.
Seamless Wireless Control
With Bluetooth pairing, the gimbal’s record button lets you start and stop recording on your camera or phone without needing a cable release. The new zoom control function enables Power Zoom for PZ lenses and Clear Image Zoom by simply pushing the joystick, making one-handed operation effortless. Once a camera is paired, it reconnects automatically for a seamless experience.
Refined User Interface
The touchscreen now features clearer icons and smoother navigation. New gimbal status prompts provide real-time updates, while parameter adjustments can be fine-tuned directly using the front dial. An auto-lock feature prevents accidental touches by dimming the screen while displaying the current gimbal and joystick modes, helping conserve battery power.
