A permanent licence costs roughly the same as just under three years of the annual licence, so break-even sits around the three year mark. If you deliver 3D models commercially on an ongoing basis, permanent is the better value. If you're not yet certain Modify fits your workflow, or your need for it is project-specific, the 1 Year licence is the lower-risk way to confirm that before committing here.

Read This Before You Buy
Three things rule people out, worth knowing now rather than after activation:
- Modify only edits models built in DJI Terra v4.0.0 or later. It cannot open output from Pix4D, Agisoft, RealityCapture, or any other reconstruction software. If you don't run DJI Terra, Modify has nothing to work on.
- It edits 3D visible-light mesh models. It is not a general point cloud editor or a photogrammetry package on its own.
- Hardware demands are real: Windows 10 or later (64-bit), 32GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA graphics card with at least 4GB of GPU memory and compute capability 6.1 or above.

What It Repairs
Mesh defects, automatically identifying and repairing floating objects and holes with a single click, producing realistic textures rather than obvious patches.
Surface and texture problems, flattening poorly reconstructed surfaces, correcting irregular water surfaces, and fixing texture errors, automatically or by selecting specific areas manually.
Point clouds, with smoothing, noise reduction, downsampling, and one-click classification adjustment.
One-Click Terra Integration and Batch Editing
Launch Modify directly from a Terra 3D modelling project. Terra generates the editing files automatically, including pre-identified objects, so the model arrives ready to work on. Import, edit, and export multiple models in a batch rather than one at a time, which is where a permanent licence earns its cost fastest, on a survey business processing several sites a week rather than the occasional project.

Is a perpetual licence genuinely no ongoing cost?

Do I need DJI Terra to use this?
Yes. Modify only edits 3D visible-light mesh models reconstructed in Terra v4.0.0 or later. If you don't already run Terra, you'd need a licence alongside this, or the combined bundle if you need both.
Can I try it before buying the permanent licence?
DJI offers a free trial licence valid for six months, requested through DJI's website with approval by email. The 1 Year licence is also a lower-commitment option if you'd rather confirm ongoing fit before paying for permanent.
Does the licence work offline?
No, only online licences are available, so it needs network connectivity in use.
Can I move the licence to a different computer?
Each licence binds to one DJI account and one computer, and the bound account cannot be changed afterwards. Unbinding to move to a different machine is limited, typically one request per year. Make sure it goes on the right machine and account first time.
Can I get this on finance?
Ltd companies can spread the cost with iwocaPay, and individual buyers can use Klarna or Clearpay at checkout.
