DJI Matrice 400 Dual Gimbal Connector
The Dual Gimbal Connector is designed for operators who need to mount two compatible gimbal payloads beneath the nose of the DJI Matrice 400. Connecting the accessory to either the E1 or E2 port of the E-Port V2 enables dual gimbal mounting without using the aircraft's third gimbal position.
This configuration gives Matrice 400 operators greater flexibility when a mission requires multiple sensors or payloads to be deployed simultaneously.
Dual Gimbal Payload Configuration
The connector supports a maximum payload of 950 g per gimbal position. This allows two compatible payloads to be carried simultaneously, provided each individual payload remains within the specified weight limit.
Dual gimbal mounting can be useful where an operation requires two different sensors to collect data during the same flight, reducing the need to land and change payloads between missions.
Connects Through E-Port V2
The Dual Gimbal Connector attaches to either the E1 or E2 port on the Matrice 400's E-Port V2 system. These connections provide the interface required for compatible gimbal payloads mounted beneath the aircraft.
The Matrice 400 provides four E-Port V2 connections, with each port supporting up to 120 W of power. The Dual Gimbal Connector uses the E1 or E2 position to provide the additional mounting configuration required for dual gimbal operations.
Support Multi-Sensor Operations
Dual gimbal mounting allows operators to configure the Matrice 400 around the requirements of the mission rather than being restricted to a single downward-facing payload.
For inspection, public safety, surveying and infrastructure applications, combining compatible payloads can allow different forms of data to be captured during the same deployment. Payload selection should always take account of the maximum 950 g limit for each gimbal position.
Designed for DJI Matrice 400
The Dual Gimbal Connector is specifically designed for the DJI Matrice 400 and is not a general-purpose gimbal mounting accessory.
The waterproof rating of the completed dual gimbal configuration depends on the attached payload. DJI advises operators to refer to the applicable IEC 60529 rating of the connected equipment when assessing environmental protection.
Installation and Maintenance
The Dual Gimbal Connector should be installed with the aircraft powered off. This reduces the risk of electrical or installation issues while connecting the accessory to the E-Port V2 system.
Operators should also check the compatibility and weight of each payload before installation. Each gimbal position has a maximum payload capacity of 950 g.
