DJI 4G Private Deployment License

Runs DJI's 4G Enhanced Transmission service on a business's own local server rather than DJI's cloud-hosted relay, keeping video and positioning traffic inside a closed network throughout a flight. Officially DJI's 4G Private Enhanced Transmission Service, issued as an SDK licence through DJI's developer platform rather than sold as a boxed product.

What It Does

OcuSync carries video under normal conditions, with the 4G link stepping in as a backup or running alongside it the moment interference or obstruction degrades the primary signal. On a private deployment, that 4G traffic routes through a server the business controls rather than DJI's own cloud infrastructure, relevant for an operator who can't have flight video or telemetry leaving a closed network. The same 4G link also carries Network RTK correction data, holding positioning accuracy if the primary radio link drops out mid-flight.

Why Deploy It Privately

A cloud-routed 4G service suits most operators fine, but a closed-network requirement, public safety, defence-adjacent or critical infrastructure work with its own data-handling rules, rules out sending video traffic through a third-party cloud regardless of encryption. Private deployment keeps that traffic on infrastructure the business already controls and audits, the same reasoning that sits behind FlightHub 2's own On-Premises option.

Compatible Aircraft and Docks

Confirmed for the Matrice 350 RTK, Matrice 300 RTK, Matrice 30 series, Matrice 3D and 3TD, and the Mavic 3 Enterprise series (3E, 3T, 3M), paired with DJI Dock 2. Checking a fleet's actual aircraft against this list before applying for the licence avoids a deployment with nothing compatible to run it on.

Hardware Needed Alongside the Licence

A Mavic 3 Enterprise aircraft needs the DJI Cellular Dongle and its mounting kit; the Matrice 30 series needs its own 4G Dongle Kit; the Matrice 350 RTK and Matrice 300 RTK need the Matrice 350 RTK 4G Dongle Kit, with the M300 RTK also requiring a DJI Cellular Dongle and the DJI RC Plus controller specifically. Dock 2 deployments need a DJI Cellular Dongle 2, unless the dock already connects over Ethernet. A minimum 5Mbps uplink is needed wherever the private server sits.

How Licensing Works

DJI issues a trial activation code first, run against a full test deployment in the business's actual server environment before any purchase commitment. A formal activation code then binds and activates the full licence, DJI's own terms state this bind can't be refunded once completed, so the trial stage is worth running properly rather than skipped. The installation package downloads and deploys to the business's own local, private cloud or third-party cloud infrastructure from that point.

Availability

DJI doesn't offer this service in the US and some other regions, and UK operators should confirm current local regulatory permissions before deploying, rules in this area are DJI's own stated caveat, not something to assume clear without checking.
