DJI Mini 5 Pro Open Box (RC-N3)

This DJI Mini 5 Pro hasn't been used, it has simply been opened! Grab yourself a bargain now!

Please see our 4000+ combined Trustpilot + Google 5 Star Verified Reviews!

Equipped with a 1-inch CMOS camera, omnidirectional nightscape object detection, a gimbal capable of 225° flexible rotation, and an enhanced ActiveTrack 360°, the DJI Mini 5 Pro delivers advanced features in its iconic lightweight design (under 250g). Matching the performance of flagship drones, it captures life’s most important moments and preserves your memories with breathtaking clarity and detail.

Why the 1-inch sensor matters

The 50MP 1-inch CMOS sensor with an f/1.8 aperture is what separates the Mini 5 Pro from smaller Minis. It records 4K/60fps HDR video with up to 14 stops of dynamic range, holding detail in high contrast scenes like sunrise, sunset and cloud texture where smaller sensors clip.

10-bit H.265 recording is available even in standard colour mode, giving you room to grade without committing to a log workflow. D-Log M and HLG are there when you want them, with a maximum ISO of 3,200 in those modes and 12,800 in standard.

48mm Med-Tele and portrait optimisation

The 48mm Med-Tele mode gives a 2x step with real resolution behind it rather than the digital zoom used on earlier Mini Pro models, so subjects hold texture and separate from the background.

Portrait optimisation adjusts brightness, contrast and skin tones, which matters most on group shots and candid frames where you are not going to get a second attempt.

225° gimbal rotation and vertical shooting

The gimbal rotates through 225°, giving true vertical capture for social formats without cropping down from a landscape frame. Every image arrives full resolution and ready to post.

The same rotation range enables QuickShot Rotate, Timelapse, Spotlight and Waypoint Flight, so rotating and orbiting moves are available without manual gimbal work, and upward angles at tall structures become straightforward.

4K/120fps slow motion

Slow motion is captured in 4K at 120fps, holding clarity at high resolution rather than dropping to a lower one. That gives you a dynamic option in the edit without a separate setup on the day.

Flying after dark

Forward-facing LiDAR works alongside fisheye lenses front and rear, binocular lenses and a bottom 3D infrared sensor to give omnidirectional obstacle detection that stays reliable in low light.

Return to home is covered too. The aircraft detects tall structures on the return path, and its visual positioning lets it memorise a flight route and return safely even from a launch point without satellite coverage, such as a balcony.

L1 + L5 dual-band GNSS connects to more satellites for better signal stability and more accurate positioning.

Night flying in the UK requires a flashing green light fitted to the aircraft. Worth knowing before your first evening flight.

DJI Mini 5 Pro Open Box

Upgraded ActiveTrack 360°

ActiveTrack 360° offers configurable tracking across a range of situations, with safer and more reliable tracking than the previous generation. Set the framing you want and the aircraft holds it while you concentrate on where you are going.

Which Mini 5 Pro package is right for you?

DJI Mini 5 Pro with RC-N3 This package. The aircraft, one battery, and the RC-N3 controller, which uses your connected phone as the screen. The cheapest route in, and the right choice if you already have spare batteries or plan to add them later.

DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo with RC 2 Adds two extra batteries, the two-way charging hub, a shoulder bag and the ND filter set, and swaps the RC-N3 for the DJI RC 2 with its own built-in screen, so your phone stays in your pocket.

DJI Mini 5 Pro Mega Bundle Everything in the Fly More Combo, plus £233.91 of extras including a year of Repair Refresh accidental damage cover, a STARTRC hard case, a 128GB memory card and a LUT pack.

The step from RC-N3 to RC 2 is the one most people notice day to day, because not having your phone tied up changes the experience more than any specification does. The extra batteries matter too: one battery is a single short flight, three is a proper session.

Is an open box unit the same as used or refurbished?

No. Open box means the seal was broken but the aircraft has not been flown. Used and refurbished units have been operated by a customer and, in the case of refurbished, repaired before resale. This unit has been inspected, tested and checked against the full contents manifest, and it carries the same warranty as a sealed one.

Do I need to register a drone that weighs under 250g?

Yes. This is the most common misunderstanding since the rules changed on 1 January 2026.

Registration used to start at 250g. It now starts at 100g. You need a Flyer ID for any drone weighing 100g or more, and an Operator ID for any drone of 100g or more that has a camera. The Mini 5 Pro is around 249.9g and has a camera, so both apply.

The Flyer ID is free, involves a short online theory test, lasts five years and has a minimum age of 13. The Operator ID costs £12.34 a year, must be renewed annually, has to be displayed on the aircraft, and the holder must be 18 or over.

What does the sub-250g weight still get me?

The weight class still carries a real advantage. Sub-250g aircraft, and those carrying a UK0 or UK1 class mark, can be flown close to and over uninvolved people in a way heavier drones cannot. No drone of any class may be flown over a crowd or organised assembly.

That flexibility is why this weight suits travel, content work and anywhere you cannot control who is nearby.

What about Remote ID?

Remote ID became mandatory on 1 January 2026 for aircraft carrying UK1, UK2, UK3, UK5 or UK6 class marks. For legacy aircraft and UK0 aircraft weighing 100g or more with a camera, it applies from 1 January 2028. Check the class mark on your aircraft to confirm which date applies to you.

Can I fly it at night?

Yes, with a flashing green light fitted to the aircraft, which is a UK requirement for night flying. The forward-facing LiDAR and Nightscape obstacle detection make night flying considerably safer, but the light is a legal obligation rather than an optional extra.

Does it come with a memory card?

No. DJI does not supply one in the box and none is included here. You will need a microSD card before your first flight, and we stock cards suitable for drones.

Can I collect it from your showroom?

Yes. Free collection is available from our DJI Experience Centre in Chichester, open Monday to Saturday, 9:00am to 5:30pm. Worth considering on an open box unit, since you can inspect it before you take it away.
