The full autonomous thermal deployment package. Pairs the vehicle-mountable DJI Dock 3 with the Matrice 4TD, whose 640×512 thermal sensor and AI subject recognition make this the configuration built for public safety, emergency response, and round-the-clock infrastructure monitoring rather than survey work.

Why the 4TD Rather Than the 4D
Both aircraft share the same IP55-rated, dock-ready airframe. The difference is the payload and therefore the mission:

If your deployment is survey or mapping rather than thermal, the Dock 3 with Matrice 4D is the cheaper and more appropriate choice.
Thermal Imaging, Unattended
The 4TD's 640×512 uncooled VOx thermal sensor measures from -20°C to 150°C in high gain, or 0°C to 500°C in low gain, with infrared super-resolution lifting output to 1280×1024. An NIR auxiliary light extends usable illumination after dark. Running from a dock, that means scheduled thermal sweeps of a site at 3am with nobody present, then an alert if something reads hot.
AI Recognition Without an Operator
The onboard AI model identifies vehicles, vessels, and people automatically during flight. On an automated dock mission with no pilot watching the feed, that's the difference between a recorded video nobody reviews and an actionable alert, which is the core reason a dock deployment earns its cost.
Continuous Operations With Dual Docks
Two docks at one site let an aircraft rotate between them, so the next mission begins while the previous battery is still charging. Combined with cloud scheduling in DJI FlightHub 2, that supports genuinely uninterrupted coverage with no on-site personnel.
Rapid Turnaround
Quick takeoff has the aircraft airborne roughly ten seconds after the cover opens. Charging runs from 15% to 95% in 27 minutes at 25°C, setting the practical minimum interval between consecutive sorties.
Built for Extreme Conditions
The dock is rated IP56 and operates from -30°C to 50°C, with compressor-based air conditioning that actively heats and cools rather than simply venting. The 4TD itself is IP55-rated with anti-icing propellers, and both tolerate winds up to 12 m/s.
Transmission and Extended Range
O4+ Enterprise transmission runs through nine built-in antennas in a 2T4R configuration. Under CE regulations, which apply in the UK, maximum transmission distance is 12km (25km under FCC). For fixed sites needing greater reach, the D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version extends operational range and improves takeoff and landing reliability in high-rise or remote environments.
Onboard Monitoring and Security
Integrated sensors track wind speed, rainfall, ambient temperature, water immersion, and in-cabin conditions, feeding environmental data into the launch decision. Dual 1920×1080 cameras, one internal and one external, cover 151° with auxiliary white light for night visibility.
Centimetre-Level Positioning
The built-in RTK module receives GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS simultaneously, delivering 1cm+1ppm horizontal and 2cm+1ppm vertical accuracy (RMS), with cloud-based calibration through DJI FlightHub 2.

Does this include the aircraft?
Yes. This bundle includes both the Dock 3 and the Matrice 4TD. The Dock Only listing covers the docking station alone at a lower price if you already hold a compatible aircraft.
Should I choose the 4TD or the 4D bundle?
The 4TD carries a thermal camera and NIR light, suited to public safety, search and rescue, and thermal inspection. The 4D drops the thermal sensor and suits mapping and survey work at a lower price. The dock and airframe are otherwise identical.
Can the aircraft be flown manually as well as from the dock?
Yes, with a DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller, sold separately unless already held. That flexibility means the aircraft isn't locked to dock operation.
What's the actual transmission range in the UK?
12km under CE regulations. The 25km figure quoted widely is the FCC maximum, which applies in the United States rather than here.
What happens during a power cut?
The 12Ah backup battery sustains dock operation for over four hours, though aircraft charging, air conditioning, cover heating, and wind gauge heating are all suspended while on backup power.
Do I need a service plan?
