DJI Dock 4

Dock 4 swaps in a fully charged battery pack in under 25 seconds from dock cover closure to battery insertion, with the aircraft back in the air inside a 45-second total turnaround, replacing the 27-minute charge cycle every dock before it has run. Paired exclusively with the Matrice 5TD, it runs scheduled or on-demand missions without a pilot on site, holding position over inspection routes, perimeter patrols and incident response calls with a battery always ready to go.

Battery-Swap Charging

A swap triggers only when the difference between the depleted battery and the highest-charged one exceeds 10% and that highest battery sits above 90%, timed to the aircraft landing, before a scheduled operation starts, or an hour ahead of an automated mission. The dock holds up to three batteries across four compartments and charges two from separate sets simultaneously, 15% to 95% in 27 minutes, with wireless charging available as a backup path only.

Built Around the Matrice 5TD

The Matrice 5TD flies to 59 minutes maximum flight time and reaches a target 3km away in under 3 minutes at its 21 m/s FlyTo speed, carrying a four-camera gimbal with a super telephoto reading a licence plate from 400 metres and a thermal camera doubling the Matrice 4TD's native resolution. Six full-colour obstacle-sensing cameras run as standard, the aircraft stops automatically before reaching a power line, and the UK/EU airframe ships with the AP1 parachute pre-installed.

Compatibility

Confirmed for the Matrice 5TD only, DJI's dock-specific airframe distinct from the standalone Matrice 4E, Matrice 4T and Matrice 400 covered elsewhere on this site. Checking a fleet's planned aircraft against this list before ordering avoids a dock with nothing to pair it to.
