DJI O4 Ground Station
For DJI Matrice 400, Matrice 350 RTK, and Dock 3 deployments. Extends transmission range and adds RTK positioning to a fixed or off-grid site.
A wide-area transmission and RTK base station, built to extend signal coverage for enterprise drone operations. Up to 25km under CE regulations, IP67 rated, and operational from -40°C to 55°C, so it's built for long-term outdoor installation rather than a portable accessory you pack away.
What It Does
- Extends transmission up to 25km under CE regulations (40km under FCC, which doesn't apply here) via a 12-antenna array combining internal and external antennas with both horizontal and vertical polarisation.
- Switches bands automatically across sub-2G, 2.4GHz, 5.2GHz, and 5.8GHz, avoiding interference in congested spectrum without operator intervention.
- Adds high-precision RTK, tracking 19 frequencies across five satellite systems for centimetre-level positioning even in urban canyons or dense canopy.
- Connects directly to FlightHub 2 in Gateway Mode, over Ethernet or DJI Cellular Dongle 2, for low-latency video and remote control through Virtual Cockpit.
- Works as a relay in Relay Mode alongside a D-RTK 3, extending coverage past terrain and obstacles in areas with no network connectivity.
Two Modes
Gateway Mode connects the station directly to FlightHub 2 for real-time video, cloud connectivity, and remote aircraft control. This is the mode for a networked site.
Relay Mode extends coverage beyond terrain and infrastructure obstacles using the station as a relay point, working alongside a D-RTK 3 station for genuinely off-grid deployments.
Built for Permanent, Unattended Installation
IP67 rated and operating from -40°C to 55°C, this is infrastructure rather than a case item, built to stay outdoors year-round. A smart low-power mode drops standby consumption to around 7 watts when no aircraft is connected, and the unit is compatible with DJI Power solar solutions and third-party photovoltaic systems for genuinely off-grid sites.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the actual range in the UK?
25km under CE regulations, which is what applies here. The 40km figure quoted in DJI's US materials is the FCC maximum for the United States.
Do I need this if I already have a D-RTK 3?
They do different jobs. The D-RTK 3 is a portable RTK base, relay, and rover station. The O4 Ground Station is a fixed, higher-power transmission and RTK installation built for permanent or off-grid sites, and the two can work together in Relay Mode.
Which aircraft does it support?
The DJI Matrice 400 and Matrice 350 RTK, and it's a core part of extended-range Dock 3 deployments.
Can it run without mains power?
Yes, it's compatible with DJI Power solar solutions and third-party photovoltaic systems, alongside its own low-power standby mode.
