DJI D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version
A dedicated relay station built to extend transmission range and RTK positioning accuracy for Dock 3 deployments in obstructed or complex environments. Unlike the D-RTK 3 Multifunctional Station, this version does one job, bridging signal through buildings, trees, and terrain, and does it permanently rather than being packed away between uses.
Relay-Only, By Design
This version operates exclusively in relay mode, no base station or rover functionality, unlike the Multifunctional Station. That's a deliberate trade-off: in exchange for losing those two modes, it gains permanent PoE power, an IP67-rated enclosure built for year-round outdoor installation, and direct integration into Dock 3's own third connection port.
Real-World Range for Your Deployment
Best-case range (unobstructed, no interference), by region:
| Link | CE (UK) | FCC | SRRC |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aircraft to relay station | 10km | 25km | 12km |
| Relay station to controller/Dock 3 | Recommended within 300m, max 1km | Recommended within 1km, max 3km | Recommended within 1km, max 3km |
Realistic range under interference:
| Condition | Range |
|---|---|
| Strong interference (city centres) | 1.5-5km |
| Medium interference (suburban) | 5-15km |
| Micro interference (remote/seaside) | 15-25km |
Realistic range when obstructed:
| Obstruction | Range |
|---|---|
| Low interference, obstructed by buildings | 0-0.5km |
| Low interference, obstructed by trees | 0.5-3km |
Relay performance improvement over no relay at all: 3-5x in severe obstruction (buildings, mountains), 1-3x in mild obstruction (trees, glass).
Under CE, which applies in the UK, the aircraft-to-relay link reaches up to 10km and the relay-to-Dock 3 link is recommended within 300m (maximum 1km), both under unobstructed, interference-free conditions. Call us with your site's obstruction and interference levels for a realistic range expectation before you install.

IP67 Depends on Correct Installation
The rubber seal on the PoE input port alone is only rated IPX5. Full IP67 protection requires the dedicated PoE port connector and cable to be installed correctly, using the included cable connector (corrugated tubing and plug), with Cat 6 or above outdoor-rated waterproof cable at the specified 5.5-6.5mm diameter. Get this wrong and the unit's actual weather resistance is lower than the headline IP67 figure suggests.
Built for Permanent, Unattended Sites
Lightning surge protection and a genuinely wide -30°C to 55°C operating range support year-round outdoor installation with minimal intervention. When PoE is connected, the internal battery sits in preservation mode rather than fully charging, extending its own service life, and Type 4 PoE power specifically enables heating for low-temperature startup.
Installation
Connects directly to the third port on DJI Dock 3. DJI specifically recommends installing on rooftops, tower tops, or other elevated, unobstructed, interference-free locations, and states the site should only be confirmed after a field survey. If that survey returns "not suitable for deploying dock," "unable to use RTK positioning," or similar, the location isn't recommended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work with the Matrice 4 Series directly, or only through Dock 3?
Currently built for Dock 3 deployments specifically.
What's the actual range I can expect in the UK?
Under CE, the formally rated figures are 10km between the aircraft and relay station, and a recommended 300m (maximum 1km) between the relay station and the controller or Dock 3, in unobstructed, interference-free conditions. Real-world performance will be lower depending on your site's obstruction and interference, call us with your site details for a realistic expectation.
Can this run in base station or rover mode like the Multifunctional Station?
No, this version is relay-only. For base or rover functionality, the D-RTK 3 Multifunctional Station is the correct product.
Do I need a specific type of PoE supply?
DJI recommends IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 (PoE++) for full performance including heating support. Lower-power PoE standards will run the unit but without heating in cold conditions.
Does the IP67 rating apply straight out of the box?
Only if installed correctly. The PoE port's rubber seal alone is IPX5; full IP67 requires the dedicated connector and correctly specified outdoor-rated Cat 6 cable to be fitted properly.
How long does the cable run need to be?
Cat 6 or above, outdoor-rated, waterproof twisted-pair cable up to 100m, with a 5.5-6.5mm outer diameter.
What warranty comes with it?
| Component | Warranty |
|---|---|
| Main Body | 24 Months |
| Companion Antenna | No Warranty |
| Other Accessories | No Warranty |
Can I get this on finance?
Ltd companies can access iwocaPay financing, and individual buyers can use Klarna or Clearpay at checkout.
Why Buy From Drone Safe Store
Fixed relay infrastructure needs planning around your actual site before it goes in the ground. As a DJI Enterprise A-Rank retailer, our team can talk through installation height, cable specification, PoE supply, and realistic CE range expectations for your specific deployment before you order, rather than quoting FCC figures that won't hold up in the UK.
