DJI Avata 360
DJI Avata 360: The 8K 360° FPV Drone That Captures Every Angle
The DJI Avata 360 records a full 360° sphere in a single flight, so framing happens in editing rather than mid-air. 1-inch-equivalent flagship imaging captures 8K/60fps HDR video and 120MP 360° photos, and a Single Lens mode switches to classic 4K/60fps FPV footage, making it two drones in one airframe: a 360° camera and a traditional Avata flyer.
The core workflow is capture first, frame later. One flight becomes multiple finished shots, each reframed from a different angle, without flying the same line twice.

360° Imaging: Capture Everything, Frame Later
The Avata 360 uses two square CMOS sensors, each raising vertical pixel count to 4,000, which enables native 8K (4K+4K) 360° video from the dual lenses. Large 2.4μm pixels, an f/1.9 aperture, and up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range deliver strong footage in both high-contrast scenes and low light.
360° capture removes the need to frame a shot in flight. Reframe from any angle in post, rotate the horizon, flip the view, or create a dolly zoom effect, all from a single take. The virtual gimbal rotates and tilts infinitely, even while the drone flies in a straight line, producing camera moves a physical gimbal cannot. A single tap also captures 120MP 360° photos for reframing later.
Two Drones in One: 360° and Single Lens Modes
A Single Lens mode switches the Avata 360 to a traditional 4K/60fps FPV camera, capturing the dynamic, fast-paced footage the Avata line is known for. That makes it the only drone to pack for a shoot needing both 360° coverage and classic FPV, rather than carrying two aircraft.
Note the obstacle sensing difference between modes: omnidirectional sensing operates in 360° mode using the fisheye cameras, while Single Lens mode supports forward sensing only. Omnidirectional sensing works on textured surfaces in lighting of 1 lux or greater.
Flight, Transmission and Control
Every specification below carries a practical filming benefit:
- Fly up to 23 minutes per Intelligent Flight Battery, long enough for a real shoot rather than a single manoeuvre
- Transmit up to 20km of 1080p/60fps video with O4+, holding a stable feed for long-range FPV
- Store up to 30 minutes of 8K 360° footage on 42GB of built-in storage, without relying on a memory card
- Track subjects automatically with ActiveTrack 360° and Spotlight, keeping a subject framed during fast movement
- Fly protected by an integrated propeller guard, reducing damage risk during close-quarters and acrobatic flight
- Perform flips and rolls with Easy ACRO using the RC Motion 3, executing acrobatics without manual stick skill
Choose How You Fly
The Avata 360 offers three control methods across its packages:
- Fly with the RC 2 controller and its built-in 5.5-inch screen for precise camera control during aerial filming
- Fly immersively with DJI Goggles 3 and RC Motion 3, where the view moves naturally with your head via head tracking, included in the Motion Fly More Combo
- Add Easy ACRO through the motion controller for intuitive, beginner-friendly flips and rolls
Which Package Should You Buy?
The Avata 360 with RC 2 at £639 is the entry point, pairing the aircraft with the screen controller for those who prefer traditional aerial filming with precise camera control.
The Fly More Combo at £829 adds two extra batteries, a charging hub, and a sling bag alongside the RC 2, the practical choice for anyone filming for more than a few minutes at a time.
The Motion Fly More Combo, also £829, includes the DJI Goggles and RC Motion 3 for full immersive first-person flight, the package for pilots who want the adrenaline of FPV alongside the 360° imaging. At the same price as the Fly More Combo, the choice between them comes down to whether you want the screen controller or the goggles.
Accessories and Spares
- Extend flight time with the Intelligent Flight Battery, adding 23 minutes per charge, £69.00
- Recharge efficiently with the Two-Way Charging Hub, charging three batteries at once, £49.00

Protect Your Avata 360 With Drone Safe Repair Refresh
Repair Refresh is our in-house protection plan, comprehensive accidental crash cover activated straight away and handled directly by our own team in Chichester. Repair Refresh closes that gap, without sending your Avata 360 away to DJI.
- Covers accidental crash damage that a standard warranty does not
- Activated immediately on purchase, with no waiting period
- Handled directly by our own engineers in Chichester

UK Flight Requirements
The Avata 360 is a heavier FPV drone, not a sub-250g aircraft, so full registration applies. You will need both a Flyer ID, earned by passing the CAA's free online theory test and valid for five years, and an Operator ID, a low-cost annual registration, before flying outdoors.
Because it is flown immersively through goggles, UK rules also require a competent spotter to maintain direct visual line of sight with the aircraft at all times during goggle flight. Weigh your complete ready-to-fly setup to confirm its category, and confirm current requirements against the CAA's Drone and Model Aircraft Registration and Education Service before flying, as rules continue to change. The Avata 360 is recommended for users aged 16 and above.
How the Avata 360 Compares
The Avata 360 sits at the top of DJI's FPV range. Against the Avata 2, it adds full 360° capture and 8K imaging while retaining the immersive FPV flight and propeller guard. Against the Neo 2, it is a far more capable, heavier aircraft aimed at serious creators rather than casual palm-launch use.
Buyers wanting pure FPV without the 360° camera should consider the Avata 2, which is lighter and lower in cost. The Avata 360's strength is the combination of immersive flight and complete spherical capture in one airframe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to register the Avata 360 in the UK?
Yes. As a heavier FPV drone it requires both a Flyer ID and an Operator ID before outdoor flight. Flown through goggles, it also requires a competent spotter maintaining direct visual line of sight at all times. The Flyer ID is free via the CAA's online test; the Operator ID is a low-cost annual registration.
What is the difference between 360° mode and Single Lens mode?
360° mode records the full sphere in 8K, letting you reframe any angle in post, and supports omnidirectional obstacle sensing. Single Lens mode switches to a traditional 4K/60fps FPV camera with forward sensing only, for classic Avata-style footage.
What is the difference between the Fly More Combo and Motion Fly More Combo?
Both cost £829 and include three batteries, a charging hub, and a sling bag. The Fly More Combo uses the RC 2 screen controller for precise aerial filming; the Motion Fly More Combo swaps that for DJI Goggles and RC Motion 3 for immersive first-person flight.
How long does the Avata 360 fly on one battery?
Up to 23 minutes per battery under DJI's test conditions. Real-world flying with acrobatics and tracking reduces this, which is why the three-battery combos are the practical choice.
Do I need a memory card?
Up to 23 minutes per battery under DJI's test conditions. Real-world flying with acrobatics and tracking reduces this, which is why the three-battery combos are the practical choice.
What is the difference between DJI Care Refresh and Drone Safe Repair Refresh?
DJI Care Refresh is DJI's own plan, £59 for one year or £99 for two years, covering natural wear, water damage, and user error. Repair Refresh is our in-house alternative at £89, comprehensive accidental crash cover handled directly by our Chichester team and activated immediately. Our team can explain which suits you best.
Does it come with a warranty?
Yes. All new, sealed DJI products from Drone Safe Store carry a 24-month warranty. For accidental damage cover, add DJI Care Refresh at £59 for one year or £99 for two, or our own Drone Safe Repair Refresh at £89, handled directly by our Chichester team.
