The New DJI RS 3 Features

The New DJI RS 3 Features

The RS 3 is designed to offer an amazing, easy filming experience to individual creators and teams of videographers. The New DJI RS 3 is a light and professional-looking gimbal that provides amazing stabilisation for amazing smooth shots.

Features of the DJI RS 3

Quick Release Plates

With dual-layered quick-release plates, mounting a camera onto RS 3 is fast and convenient, with no need to re-balance the gimbal after swapping out a new battery.

With the ability to move the camera forward or backwards on the tilt axis with millimetre-level precision, precise balancing is now simpler to achieve while switching lenses.

Automated Axis Locks

With the DJI RS 3, you may start working right away. The three axes unlock and the gimbal extends automatically when you push and hold the power button while the gimbal is off, allowing you to go to work right away. Once the power button is pressed, the axes automatically lock and go into sleep mode, greatly enhancing the effectiveness of both transportation and trip. It will automatically fold and lock if you press and hold the power button.

Wireless Shutter Control

Dual-Mode Bluetooth is used in the RS 3 to allow wireless shutter control, which [1] helps users save time and effort during each use. By just pushing the record button on the stabiliser, you may control video and photo shooting after the initial Bluetooth connectivity. After the initial use, previously associated cameras can instantly reconnect, doing away with the requirement for a camera control wire.

Lightweight

Two examples of common cameras that could be supported by the RS 3's 3kg (6.6lb) load capacity and 1.3 kg (2.8 lbs) weight are the Sony A7S3 and Canon R5 with a 24-70mm F2.8 lens (with the gimbal, battery grip, and quick-release plates).

3rd-Generation RS Stabilisation Algorithm

The greater stability of RS 3 is made possible by a new iteration of the RS stabilisation algorithm. According to laboratory tests, RS 3 is 20% more stable than RSC 2 and is capable of handling low-angle views, running scenarios, and moving between high and low locations.

Beyond Smooth

Switch on SuperSmooth mode for even smoother Shots. When using 100mm-equivalent focal length lenses or in fast-moving situations, RS 3's increased motor torque will further improve stabilisation and produce stable film.

Fast Parameter Settings

The RS 3 comes with a 1.8-inch OLED touchscreen Full-Colour display, this a massive upgrade compared to the DJI RSC 2 which had a black and white display. The RS 3 supports most Ronin app settings which means that the RS 3 is precise and the controls are intuitive.

Instant Mode Switching

You may switch between Pan follow, Pan and Tilt follow, and FPV modes by simply sliding the new gimbal mode switch. You can quickly set up your equipment and get going by choosing from the 3D Roll 360, Portrait, or Custom FPV modes.

Customisable Front Dial

You may adjust the magnification or focus by rotating the front dial. It is incredibly convenient for one-handed operation and may be configured to manage the camera's shutter, aperture, ISO or gimbal movements.

Supports the Ronin Image Transmitter

The Ronin Image Transmitter, formerly known as the Ronin RavenEye Image Transmitter, is supported by RS 3 and allows for the direct transmission of 1080p/30fps HD live feeds to a mobile device. 200 metres is the maximum transmission distance. A smartphone can be attached to the NATO port on the RS 3 using the phone holder, or wireless monitoring.

Integrated Monitoring and Control

You can now remotely adjust the camera exposure through the Ronin app on your smartphone, or you can control the gimbal with the virtual joystick.

A Battery Built for Pros

The New RS3 Battery Grip has an all-new cartridge design making it easier to swap batteries. The batteries can even be charged separately from the gimbal in the new RS 3

12 Hour Battery Life and Fast Charging

The redesigned battery grip has a longer runtime of up to 12 hours, which is sufficient to withstand continuous shooting all day long. With a 2.5-hour charge time, it supports 18W PD fast charging. It can even be used to power the RS 3 while it is charging, essentially forever.
